Responsibilities:
  • Daily systems monitoring and management across production and non-production cloud environments
  • Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to triage and resolve technical and user issues
  • Consult with developers to design and package infrastructure solutions for new product services
  • Drive technical innovation and efficiency in infrastructure operations
  • Plan for and ensure adequate capacity across all services
  • Automate and improve installation, configuration, backup, monitoring and alerting
  • Apply security best practices and regional regulations (eg GDPR) in designing, managing and auditing networks and infrastructure
  • Write and maintain system operations runbooks
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule providing 24x7 support
 
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of hands-on cloud operations experience, AWS tools and services preferred
  • Good knowledge of administering linux environments
  • Demonstrable experience in shell and at least one scripting language like python
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (eg Jenkins) and understanding of CI/CD principles
  • Demonstrable experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or CloudFormation
  • Intermediate understanding of CDNs, load balancing, DNS, proxying and networking (ELB/ALB, HAProxy, Route53, VPCs, etc)
  • Basic understanding of application services (MySQL, NoSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, S3, API Gateway)
  • Experience with containers (eg docker) and serverless (eg lambda) is a plus
  • Demonstrable experience implementing secure and highly available infrastructure services
  • Experience using version control.  We use Git.
